PuriActives® Ceramide E
The Advanced Pseudo-Ceramide Solution for Superior Skin Barrier Repair
PuriPharm Co. Ltd.
The Ceramide Challenge
Understanding the vital role of ceramides and the complex limitations of natural extraction in modern cosmetics.
The “Brick and Mortar” Model
The Epidermal Barrier
Ceramides account for over 50% of the stratum corneum lipids, acting as the essential ‘mortar’ holding the cellular ‘bricks’ together.
Moisture Retention
They uniquely form a structured lamellar network that powerfully binds water, actively preventing transepidermal water loss (TEWL).
Depletion Factors
Age, harsh chemicals, and environmental stressors rapidly deplete natural ceramides, inevitably leading to dryness, flaking, and irritation.
Natural Ceramide Limits

Natural ceramides are incredibly difficult and expensive to extract from plant or animal sources.
They exhibit notoriously poor solubility in both water and standard cosmetic oils.
Extremely high melting points (often over 90°C) make them challenging to formulate into stable emulsions.
Consequently, cosmetic formulators are often forced to use low, ineffective concentrations to prevent crystallization in the final product.
Introducing Ceramide E
A scientifically engineered, highly stable synthetic pseudo-ceramide developed by PuriPharm.
What is Ceramide E?
Scientific Profile
INCI: Cetyl-PG Hydroxyethyl Palmitamide.
It is a meticulously lab-created synthetic pseudo-ceramide designed to perfectly mimic the complex molecular structure and barrier function of natural epidermal sphingolipids.
The PuriActives® Advantage
It completely overcomes the formulation hurdles of natural ceramides. Ceramide E delivers identical barrier repair, profound hydration, and anti-inflammatory properties while remaining highly stable, safe, and cost-effective for modern skincare.
Replicating Nature
50% of Stratum Corneum Lipids
Biomimetic Structural Integrity
PuriActives® Ceramide E perfectly integrates into the skin’s natural lipid matrix. It acts as an identical substitute for the natural ceramides that naturally comprise half of your skin’s protective outer layer, ensuring long-lasting defense against environmental aggressors.
Mechanism of Action
Restoring the Lamellar Network

Ceramide E easily penetrates the upper layers of the epidermis, integrating directly into the compromised lipid matrix. It rapidly forms highly organized lamellar structures, effectively replacing lost intercellular “mortar”. This actively restores the structural integrity of the stratum corneum, locking in essential moisture while blocking external irritants.

Clinical Efficacies
Proven, measurable results in long-term skin hydration, structural protection, and barrier repair.
Core Skincare Benefits
Deep Hydration:
Massively enhances the skin’s capacity to retain moisture at a cellular level, dramatically improving overall elasticity, softness, and suppleness over continuous use.
Barrier Repair:
Actively replenishes the crucial lipid layer, effectively sealing microscopic epidermal cracks to stop transepidermal water loss (TEWL).
Soothing & Anti-Irritant:
Significantly reduces redness, flaking, and severe inflammation, making it highly recommended for sensitive, reactive, or eczema-prone skin types.
Anti-Aging Support:
Reinforces skin firmness and visibly minimizes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by maintaining optimal structural hydration and tissue resilience.
TEWL Reduction

Clinical applications demonstrate a dose-dependent, significant reduction in Transepidermal Water Loss (TEWL) compared to standard humectants, indicating a vastly fortified skin barrier.
24-Hour Hydration Trend

Unlike traditional humectants offering temporary relief, Ceramide E structurally locks in moisture, maintaining a significantly higher skin hydration index across a full 24-hour cycle.
Targeted Skin Conditions

Dry & Winter Skin
Eliminates flakiness and severe dryness by artificially rebuilding the compromised moisture barrier against harsh elements.

Sensitive & Atopic
Provides exceptional soothing relief for irritation, redness, and biologically compromised skin conditions like eczema.

Mature & Aging Skin
Combats the natural age-related decline of ceramide production, effectively restoring youthful firmness and tissue density.
Formulation Superiority

Formulators highly prefer PuriActives® Ceramide E as it completely bypasses the instability and crystallization risks of natural ceramides.
As a high-purity synthetic pseudo-ceramide, it offers exceptional batch consistency, prolonged shelf life, and effortless integration into complex cosmetic emulsions without degrading other actives.
Formulation & Applications
Technical guidelines and product versatility for cosmetic integration.
Versatile Applications
Facial Care
Essential for intensive barrier repair creams, high-end anti-aging serums, toners, and sensitive skin daily moisturizers.
Body Care
Highly effective in therapeutic body lotions, eczema-relief ointments, foot repair treatments, and winter care formulations.
Scalp & Hair
Excellent for anti-dandruff treatments, scalp soothing tonics, and deep conditioning hair masks to repair cuticle damage.
The Future of Barrier Care
“Synthetic pseudo-ceramides represent a critical breakthrough, delivering the profound barrier-repairing power of natural sphingolipids with unprecedented formulation stability.”
— Dermatological Research Perspectives
Formulation Process
1. Dispersion
Disperse the Ceramide E powder directly into the formulation’s designated oil phase.
2. Melting
Heat the entire oil phase to approximately 80°C to ensure complete dissolution.
3. Emulsion
Combine with the heated aqueous phase under high shear to form a stable emulsion.
4. Cooling
Cool the batch below 40°C before adding any heat-sensitive cosmetic actives.
